Staples Real Estate Solutions

Creating harmony through people, place and profit...

Kelly Staples, Principal

Kelly Staples has been performing contract work for real estate companies and developers in Idaho and California since 2004. Prior to embarking on her real estate career, Kelly led a diverse and enterprising 20 year corporate sales, marketing and operations career with a proven track record of increasing profitability.

The daughter of one of Washington State's largest fruit growers, Kelly spent her formative years working in many aspects of farming while becoming an accomplished competitive equestrian developing a strong work ethic and perseverence. Inspired by her father's visionary equestrian, marina and golf course residential community concept in the early 1980's, Kelly was destined to pursue ambitious goals.

With a passion for real estate development and a love for wine country, Kelly was drawn to Napa, California, in 2005 on a quest to work on creative new lifestyle projects that would contribute to a community's quality of life while incorporating green and sustainable principles for future generations. Initially inspired by sustainability pioneer, Healthy Buildings USA in Napa, she eventually found her mentorship in Vallejo with Triad Communities known for the Hiddenbrooke golf course community and their sustainable project concepts including an eco-village in the Napa valley, a "new urbanist" mixed-used greenfield project in Vacaville, and a sustainable downtown revitalization project in Vallejo, California.

From October 2006 through November 2007, Kelly was hired by Triad Communities in Vallejo, CA, to implement public elements of the Development Agreement between the City of Vallejo Redevelopment Agency and Triad as the master developer in a public/private partnership to redevelop Vallejo's Downtown 16-block Specific Plan area. With innate community relations and marketing talents, Kelly strengthened relationships with public officials, downtown property owners and private sector influencers while she worked to position Triad’s retail components of the downtown revitalization project. With an interest in further developing her retail expertise, Kelly launched an import art and furniture retail venture in Ketchum, Idaho, called House of the Rising Sun.

Representing Triad on the Board of CCRC, the downtown property owner’s association, Kelly worked to facilitate the successful renewal of the Business Improvement District (PBID) requiring sensitive financial negotiations that won majority vote of about 175 property owners for self assessed taxation. Additionally, Kelly actively participated on Vallejo’s Percent for the Arts, Weed & Seed Grant Funding, and the Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs and Economic Development Committees with a deep commitment to her community.

Prior to that, Kelly's real estate career began in Ketchum, ID, in 2004 when she represented a $25 million mixed use project in sales and marketing. She also worked with a construction and development firm on land acquisitions, permitting and entitlement, and construction build-out coordination for several hospitality, commercial and residential projects.

Kelly has become well-versed in the dynamics of major development and redevelopment projects through her experience in new project analysis from an economic and political perspective. She has pursued her thirst for real estate knowledge through active membership in the Urban Land Institute, International Council for Shopping Centers, Build It Green Organization, U.S. Green Building Council, and national and local chapters of the Realtor’s® Associations. Kelly is a licensed real estate Broker in the State of California.
